7th Deer Of The 2014 Season Nice Spike Buck!
Here is a picture of my 7th deer of the 2014 season. It was a nice spike buck. He was taken with a Weatherby .308 at 70 yards. He weighted in at 105 lbs. We had attended a funeral in Georgia for a family member that had passed away and I got home about a hour before dark and I decided to slip into the boxstand behind the house since it hadn't been hunted in a few weeks. Right before dark I heard this guy coming up from the creek and right at dark he got into range. I lined him up a took my shot. It hit it's mark and he only went about 20 yards from where I shot him. Its not been the the best for big bucks but at least I have been able to get plenty of meat on the ground over the couple of weeks. He was taken on private land in Union County. Third Deer Of 2013 Spike Buck!
Here is a picture of my third deer of the 2013 season! He weighted in at about 90 lbs. and was taken with a Weatherby .308 at only 15 yards. We moved deeper into the oaks this morning to see if we could see a few on the other property that we have and around 8:00 a heard this fellow crunching on some acorns to my left. It was a hard shot. He was to my left and behind me. I had to shoot him free handed and the shot was a little ways back on him but it done the job. He only ran about 40 yards from where I shot him at. Still haven't be able to harvest that monster buck yet but all of these deer are trophies to me. He was taken on private land in Union County! Photo taken 10/13/13

First Kill Of The 2013 Season!
Here is a picture of my first kill of the 2013 season! This big doe weighted in at just over 100 lbs. She was taken with a Horton HD 150 crossbow at 35 yards. She was taken on private land in Union County. The season had started off a little slow I have been seeing a lot of deer but none of them would get range. I climbed in the stand about 4:00 and around 5:45 I started seeing a few deer. Bye 6:20 I was watching seven deer. Five big doe's and a small spike and a small doe. Three of them were in range. I decided to take one of the big doe's. I lined her up and took the shot. She fell in her tracks. The arrow had cut her spine into. So glad that the LORD has blessed me with being able to take this beautiful animal. Maybe now that the ice has been broken I can get on a roll now!
