Nice Sow From Our 2013 Chappy's Outfitters Visit!
Here is a picture of a nice sow I took on our most recent trip to Chappy's Outfitters in south Florida. It was the first afternoon of the hunt and Bret put me into a boxstand overlooking a feeder about 2:30. I kicked back and put my feet up because the feeder wasn't going off until 5:00. Shortly after 3:00 I heard something in palmetto to my right. Around 3:20 two nice sows and two little pigs stepped out of the palmetto. They walked around feeding for about ten minutes and I decided I was going to take one of those nice sows. It was about a 80 yard shot. I put the crosshairs right behind the ear and took the shot. It was perfect and she dropped in her tracks. She weighted in at about 150 pounds. She was taken with a weatherby .308 at 80 yards. It was a great hunt and it only took just over one hour. 2013 Chappy's Outfitters Hog Hunt!
Huge Boar Taken On Our 2013 South Florida Hunt!
Here is a picture of a huge boar I took on our most recent trip to south Florida with Chappy's Outfitters. He weighted in at 285 pounds and had 3" cutters. He was taken with a Weatherby .308 at about 25 yards. It was the first morning of the hunt and we didn't see anything out of the stand so we decided to let the dogs out. It was long before they bayed this monster. We jumped off the swamp buggy and headed in. I tried to get a shot on him and he bolted the first time. Then the dogs trapped him again. He looked straight at us and I shot him right behind the ear. He dropped in his tracks. Check out the video above to watch this hunt or you can go to youtube and look up Chappy's Otufitters. Huge Doe Taken During 2012 Rifle Season!
I had just returned from a hunt for whitetail in South Alabama and I decided to take a afternoon hunt before heading back to work the next day! I got into the stand around 3:30 and right at dark I heard a deer coming up the creek bottom. She got into range right at dark and I lined her up and took the shot! It was perfect! She dropped in her tracks. She weighted in at just over a 100 lbs. and was taken with a Weatherby .308 at about 40 yards. This is my 13th deer of the 2012 season. She was taken on private land in Union County. Check out the other photos of this deer in the Photos 2 section of the site. Photo taken 12/15/12
Two Nice South Alabama Does!
I took these two nice does on a trip with a partner from work! We hunted 2 and 1/2 days and seen 12 deer. We were able to harvest three deer in less than three days. I would like to thank Mike for the invite on this hunt. I am looking forward to doing it again sometime! It was the second afternoon hunt and we got into the stands around 2:30 hunting over huge green fields. And around 3:35 I saw three does come into the edge of the field. I knew it was going to be a long shot but I lined the first one up and took the shot. I saw her jump and head back into the thicket. The other two just stood there and I lined the next one up and fired. She dropped in her tracks. I walked into the edge of the thicket and the first one was laying only 20 yards in! The big one weighted 125 lbs. and the other one was much smaller but both of them will eat good! I took both of these deer with a Weatherby .308 at 235 yards. This is my 11th and 12th deer of the 2012 season! Both deer were taken 25 mins. south of Selma, Alabama. Photo taken 12/13/12. Check out the other photos of these deer in the Photos 2 section of the site.
Daddy's First Kill Of 2012!
Here is a picture of my daddy's first deer of 2012. It was a huge doe and she weighted in at about 110lbs. She was taken with a Mossberg ATR 3.06 at about 60 yards. It has been a rough season for my father the year. He has missed a couple so far this season and I am glad he was able to harvest him a nice doe. I enjoy every hunting trip I get to go on with him and I just hope when I get his age I will still be able to hunt like he does. We've still got about a month left in the season and maybe he can harvest him a few more before the season comes to a end. She was taken on private land in southern Union County. Photo taken 11/21/12
Nice Spike Buck Taken During 2012 Rifle Season!
Here is a picture of a nice spike buck that I took during the 2012 rifle season. He weighted in at around 100lbs. He was taken with a Weatherby .308 at about 50 yards. I heard a few deer coming in right at dark and he was the first one to get into my sight. I lined him up and took the shot. It was dead on and he bolted towards the bottom and I heard him crash only about 40 yards from where I shot him. What a season it has been. This makes my 10th deer of the year and there is still a month left in the season. He was taken on private land in Union County. Photo taken 11/18/12
Nice 6 Pointer Taken During 2012 Rifle Season!
Here is a picture of a nice 6 pointer I took during the 2012 rifle season. He didn't have a huge rack but he weighted in at a 140lbs. He was taken with a Weatherby .308 I had just climbed into the stand that morning and I heard something coming in from behind me. In just a few seconds I saw a image standing in the oaks only about 40 yards from me. It took me a few seconds to get him in the scope and I didn't know if it was a buck or a doe I just knew it was a good size deer. I finally got him in the scope and took the shot. I heard him run off into the bottom and then I heard him fall. This is the fouth deer I have been blessed enough to kill this week and he is the 9th deer of the 2012 season for me. Rifle season started off slow and now it seems like they are running everywhere. Check out the other photos of this deer in the photos 2 section of the site. Photo taken 11/05/12
7th and 8th Deer of 2012!
Here is a picture of my 7th and 8th deer of the 2012 season! I took both of these does at about 80 yards only a few seconds a part. They were taken with a Weatherby .308 I had been in the stand for about 2 hours and it started to rain a little and I saw a doe crossing the creek bed. She was facing me and I lined her up and took the shot. I didn"t see her run off and I thought I had missed and bolted another one into the chamber and looked around and saw another doe standing in the same spot. She was broadside to me and I lined her up and took the shot. It was perfect she ran about 10 yards and fell only feet from the stand. I climbed down and went to where I shot the first one at and she was laying right where I shot her. A neck shot dropped her in her tracks. Check out the other photos of these deer in the photos 2 section of the site. They were taken on private land in Union county. Photo taken 11/04/12

It was the second morning of muzzleloader season and I got into the boxstand around 6:30. About 8:15 I saw this doe way down in the bottom and I couldn't tell alot about her. But I got a open shot and I decided to take it. She bolted towards the creek and I got down to check on her. She was only about 20 yards from where I shot her. Not a huge doe only about 70 pounds but she sure will be a tender one to eat. She was taken on private land in southern Union County. Photo taken 10/02/12

We went to our other property on the other side of the county to give our other land a break for a while. It rained all morning and we decided to wait and go in the afternoon. I got into the stand about 4:00 and around 5:15 I saw this big doe coming up the hill. She got into range and I took the shot. I saw her break towards the creek and I got out of the stand and she was laying on the creek bed about 50 yards from where I shot her. She weighted around 110 pounds. This is my fourth deer of 2012. I climbed into the stand around 4:30 and around 6:00 I saw a nice doe in the bottom coming towards me. Something told me to look to my left and this nice buck was standing only 70 yards away from me. It took him a while but he got into range around 6:30. The only shot I had on him was a neck shot and I took it. I didn't know if the shot had hit it's mark so I sat there a little while and got up to look for my arrow. Couldn't find the arrow but I found a huge trail of blood. I knew then the shot was true. I fallowed the blood down the hill just a bit and he was laying about 40 yards from where I shot him at. He weighted around 120lbs. He was taken on private land in Union county. Photo taken 09/24/12

Special Thanks To King Cut Deer Processing
I would like to give a special thanks to King Cut Deer Processing, and its owner Frank Lancaster. They do a great job each and every time I carry a deer there. He has the cleanest place you will ever see in a deer processing house. He is not only the owner of King Cut but he is also a great friend. He would give you the shirt off of his back if he thought you needed it more than him. If you hunt in Union or surrounding counties I suggest you give King Cut Deer Processing a Shot. You can reach Frank Lancaster at 864-426-2100.
