A little later in the year we will be heading down to Florida again to hunt with Mizell's Monsters for a mangement fallow deer and a fallow doe. Just got done booking this hunt and it will take place on September 8th 2012. I will also be posting photos from this hunt as soon as we return.

Huge 10 Pointer Taken During 2011 Rifle Season

Picture
Here is a picture of a huge buck I took during the 2011 rifle season. He was a 10 pointer with a 12" inside spread and 4" brow tines. He weighted between 170 and 180 pounds. He was taken on private in Union County. I took this buck at about 7:30 A.M. He was taken with a Marlin 7mm 08. This is the second huge buck that I have been blessed enough to take this season. I got home from work at around 6:35  and I decided to go to the boxstand for a little while. Had a deer run off when I was climbing into the stand and I thought I had blew my chance. The sun was already coming up and about an hour later I looked up on top of the ridge and I saw this monster moving across it. I had my new gun with me and I had never shot at a deer with it before and it was a long shot. I turned the scope up on 9 and lined him up. I took the shot and he fell in his tracks. The shot was just over 130 yards. I wasn't sure how big he was at the time. I let him lay for a litte while and then I got down and starting climbing to the top of the ridge. When I got there I couldn't believe it. He would have been a 11 pointer but he broke a point off when he fell. This has been an awesome season. I haven't killed as many as I did last season but I have killed two monster bucks. This is my fifth deer of the 2011 season. God has blessed me and I know without him none of this would be possible. Photo taken 12/10/11

Huge 8 Pointer Taken During 2011 Muzzleloader Season

Picture
Here is a picture of a huge buck I took during the 2011 muzzleloader season. He was a 8 pointer with a 17" inside spread and 2 1/2" brow tines. He weighted in at just over 180lbs. He was taken on private land in southern Union County. I took this buck just before 8 A.M. He was taken with CVA Wolf 50 cal. muzzleloader. This makes the second year in a row that I have been blessed enough to harvest a huge buck! This one came in from behind me and I never heard him. When I looked to my left he was standing at only ten yards. He knew something wasn't right. He started stomping his foot and I thought he was about to make a break for it. Then he took two steps forward and his head was behind a oak tree. Then I took the shot. When the smoke cleared I looked just off the edge of the hill and I seen some limbs moving and I knew he was down!  He took maybe two steps after I shot him and rolled down the hill just a bit. He was laying only about 30 yards from where I shot him. God has blessed me in so many ways and I know that if I didn't have him that I wouldn't be able to harvest the type of deer that I do! Check out some more photos of this monster in photos section of the website. Photo taken 10/09/11.

Monster 8 Pointer Taken On Opening Day Of Bow Season 2010

Picture
Here is picture of a huge buck I took on opening day of bow season.  He was a 8pt with a 17 inch spread and 3 inch brow tines and weighted in at 175lbs. He was taken on private land in Union County. I took this buck around five P.M. He was killed with a Horton Summit 150 crossbow, at about 40 yards. This is all that any hunter could ask for on any trip. When he got into range I remember just praying that the lord would give the chance at this huge buck and he did. Once I took the shot I sat there a for a while then got up to look for my arrow. I couldn't find it and I thought I might have missed. I walked down the hill a bit and I found some blood. I kept walking down the hill and he was laying on the edge of a creek bed about 50 yards from where I shot him. What a opening day! He sure will look good hanging on my wall. Good luck to all hunters this year maybe you will have a day like I had this week. Thanks to my father for helping me get this monster out of the woods. Check out some of the other photos of this deer in my photos section. Photo taken 9/15/10

He was taken with a Marlin 7mm 08 at about 40 yards. This is the fouth nice buck that I have been blessed to take this season. He was taken on private land in Union county. The season is just a few weeks from coming to a close and what a season it has been. This is the sixth deer of 2011 for me. Check out other photos of this nice buck in the photos section of the website. Photo taken 12/13/11

Another Nice Eight Pointer Taken During 2010 Season

Picture
Here is a picture of another nice eight pointer I took during the 2010 rifle season. He was taken with a ruger 243 at about 40 yards. I took him right at dark. He weighted between 160 to 170 pounds. Not the wall hanger like the first one I got but he still is a very nice buck. With only two weeks left in the season maybe I can get a couple of more to fill the freezer up. He was taken on private land in Union county. This is my 8th deer of the 2010 season. Photo taken 12/15/10

Monster Boar Taken At Chappy's Outfitters

Picture
Here is a picture of a monster boar I took on our most recent south Florida hog hunting trip with Chappy's Outfitters. He weighted between 200 and 210 pounds and had three inch cutters. The dogs bayed him in some thick stuff and I had to get up on a fallen tree to get a shot at him. He was only about five feet away from me when I shot him. That was a heart pounding hunt. If you are looking for some great hog hunting action give Chappy's a shot! Two of us took five hogs in one day of hunting! Check them out at chappysoutfitters.com Photo taken 01/08/11

Nice Cowhorn Buck Taken During 2010 Muzzleloader Season

Picture
Here is a picture of a nice cowhorn buck I took during the 2010 muzzleloader season. He was taken with a CVA Wolf muzzleloader at about 85 yards. He weighted between 120 and 130 pounds. He was taken on private land in Union county. My daughter told me before I left that afternoon that I was going to kill one of those boy deer with the horns. When I came in and told her that I got one with horns she just couldn't wait to get her picture took with it. She will be going hunting with me in just a few years. I can't wait until she gets her first boy deer with the horns, as she says. This is my fourth deer of the 2010 season and we are just now going into rifle season. Maybe my good luck will continue into rifle season. Photo taken 10/07/10

Huge Axis Deer Taken On Our Latest Hunting Trip!

Picture
Here is a picture of the huge axis deer I took on our latest hunting trip to Dos Plumas Hunting Ranch in Trent, TX. He wasn't the biggest axis I seen on the trip but he was the biggest I could get a shot at. He weighted between 220 to 230 pounds, and he sure will look good hanging on the wall. If you are looking for some great axis deer hunting give Dos Plumas a shot. Check them out at dosplumashuntingranch.com Photo taken 05/08/10

Nice Corsican Ram I Took At The Dos!

Picture
Here is a picture of a nice corsican ram I took at Dos Plumas Hunting Ranch in Trent, Tx on our latest hunting trip. The ram hunt was not as hard as the axis hunt but it still was a challenge, and he should look great on the wall also! These rams are huge animals and he weighted around 170 pounds and his horns are perfect. If you are looking for a great ram hunt give Dos Plumas a shot! Photo taken 05/09/10

Nice Hog I Took At The Dos!

Picture
Here is a picture a of nice hog I took at the Dos on our latest hunting trip. He's not a huge hog but he's the only one I got a shot at. I am not impressed with the hog hunting at Dos Plumas Hunting Ranch. They have no dogs, so if you don't get one out of the stand then you are just out of luck. All of the other places I have hunted for hogs at if you don't get one out of the stand then they get the dogs out and find a hog but not at the Dos. I will be going to Chappy's Outfitters on our next hog hunt. Dos Plumas is a great place for Exotics and Rams but not my best choice for Wild Hogs. This hog weighted about 80 pounds and sure will be good to eat. Photo taken 05/09/10

Dad's First Globbler Of  2010 Season

Picture
Here is a picture of my dad's first globber of the 2010 season. He was taken on private land in Union county. There is a picture of his second globber in the hunting section of the website. Everybody has had good luck this season except for me of course, but that is why they call it hunting not killing! If I don't get one this year maybe I will have better luck next season. Congrats to dad on his two nice globbers! I'm just glad we get to hunt and fish together all the time. Photo taken 04/01/10
